PICKLE BALL

The aim is to have fun, socialise and get fit in a way that is suitable for the age range of typical U3A members. Pickleball is a cross between table tennis and badminton. Played on badminton size court but with 3 foot high net, large table tennis type bat, a hollow plastic ball and is usually played as doubles.

It is a game ideally suited for the U3A age group where skill is the most important factor and you can be playing after just 10 minutes instruction. Comfortable clothing suitable for racquet sports should be worn whilst nonslip soled shoes are a requirement. Equipment is provided but you may wish to purchase your own paddle. Instruction is given and your existing racquet skills are readily transferred to Pickleball.

We play weekly at Larkfield Leisure Centre 10.30 - 11.30. Entrance fee for those over 66 is £1.80 and those under £3.10. We collect £2 per person towards the cost of the courts. Parking is free and they only close for two weeks at Christmas.
