Walking

4 groups designed to suit walkers of all levels

 

Easy Walking (strolling)

 Meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 2.00 in the afternoon

A group to suit those members who want just an easy walk, maximum 2 miles, with a break for tea/ coffee at the end when possible.  Members are encouraged to take turns in leading a walk.

Walking (short walks)

The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 10 am

The group meets for short walks of between 2 and 4 miles. Different members propose routes and lead.

Walking (half day)  2 groups

 There will be coverage of some interesting countryside in all seasons during walks of between 5 and 7 miles.

A refreshment stop will normally be included, during or after the walk.

Details of each walk will be emailed to all members in the middle of the month before the walk taking place.

Walking (full day)

 Walks will take place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month

Our Aim is to be democratic and it has been agreed on our first meeting to walk some Historic long distance trails such as the Saxon Shore Way. and the 1066 country walk, roughly 10 miles each walk, using cars at each end if public transport is not available. Picnic lunches and pub stops to make the walk more enjoyable, Its intended to be a social event and not a route march stopping along the way for short rests and snacks.
